CHERRY HILL NJ – Three items of good news:
- Homebuilders foresee a coming market in back-to-basics starter homes for Generation Y (ages 23-33) buyers, Daily Real Estate News reported in August (2013).
- Pending home sales contracts for August rose substantially year-over-year in Northern New Jersey counties, according to statistics recently cited by the New Jersey Real Estate Report blog.
- And Polley Associates has scheduled its latest 75-hour NJ real estate salesperson licensing course to start Oct. 19.
Are the three related? Well, no … and yes. It’s true there’s no real correlation between a home builder’s hope for growth with a new product, rising real estate sales during late summer in the state’s northern half, and Polley’s announcement of a new series of pre-licensing classes.
Yet there’s a positive vibe in all three. The fact that builders are working to encourage home ownership among even younger demographics says they’re thinking for the long term. The fact that the number of northern Jersey sales contracts are being signed by increases of between 5 and 44 percent indicates the short-term market is looking decidedly better too. And the fact that Polley is responding to sales license prospects who want more courses is, we suggest, equally good.
