How is WorldMerge different than
other e-mail programs?
WorldMerge is a program designed
specifically to do e-mail merges. It
allows you to send personalized e-mail
messages to a large number of
recipients quickly and easily.
WorldMerge is not a general purpose
e-mail package.
What are some of the possible
uses for WorldMerge?
Personalized invoices, newsletters,
new product announcements just to name
a few.
How many messages per hour can
WorldMerge send?
Around 200-300 personalized
messages per hour, depending upon the
speed of your Internet connection and
the size of your message.
Broadcast mode allows you to send
approximately 5,000 messages per hour,
but without merging capabilities.
Why not use a list server?
If you're a professional programmer
and have shell access to a machine
connected directly to the internet,
then a list server may be the thing
for you. If not, you will have to pay
someone approximately $100 per hour to
set up and manage one for you. And
list servers send each recipient the
same message, so you cannot
personalize each message.
WorldMerge provides a very
different alternative to list servers.
WorldMerge runs on your home or office
PC, doesn't require a dedicated
connection to the internet, and lets
you send personalized messages to each
recipient. All without hiring a
professional programmer.
How does WorldMerge work with my
current database?
Microsoft Access Database files are
directly supported. You just specify
the database filename when setting up
your project. If your database is in
another format, it must be exported to
either tab delimited or comma
delimited format.
Can WorldMerge be used to send
unsolicited email?
First and foremost, don't waste
your time with an unsolicited
e-mail campaign.
As with any other e-mail package on
the market, sending "spam"
with WorldMerge is possible, but we
strongly discourage the use of
WorldMerge for this purpose.
WorldMerge is best used to send
personalized messages to solicited
recipients. If you're planning to use
WorldMerge for unsolicited mailings,
don't!
Will WorldMerge run on my
system?
A 32-bit version is available for
Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. A
16-bit version is available for
Windows 3.1.
