About the Course:
Due to a recent rule change, non-Florida residents who have held a real estate license in another state for at least one year can bypass Florida's salesperson licensing process and immediately acquire a Florida broker's license. Polley Associates makes it possible to capitalize on this opportunity right now!

Complete your education requirement in Pennsylvania in either the Philadelphia area (Newtown Square) or the Pittsburgh area, and take the required test in either Florida or Pennsylvania!

The course will be conducted by Dan Taddeo of the Daniel Taddeo Real Estate School. Course content, the instructor, and course materials all are approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission. The course is 72 hours of instruction (50-minute hours). You are not permitted to miss more than 8 hours.

A sponsoring broker in Florida is not necessary to take the exam. One does not have to be a resident of Florida to hold a Florida license. However, one must take and pass the Florida State Exam within two years after the course completion date.

Tuition of $525 includes all course materials. A deposit of 50 percent or more must be paid at registration to ensure your seat in the course. All balances must be paid 30 days prior to the class starting date.

This is a popular course, so enroll for either Pittsburgh or Newtown Square (Philadelphia suburbs) now!

  • To take this course, one must have an active salesperson's or broker's license, in any state, for at least one year.
  • After successful completion of the course an application to take the Florida state broker's exam will be sent to you by the instructor. You must include a certified copy of your Pennsylvania license history when you apply to take the exam. It normally takes 4-6 weeks to process your application to sit for the Florida exam.
  • The Florida state computer-based broker's exam is offered every day, and some evenings, at 15 different locations in the State of Florida. The exam also can be taken at three sites in Pennsylvania: Bala Cynwyd, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. You must take the Florida state broker's exam within two years of the course completion date.
  • There are 95 questions on the Florida state broker's exam. The time allotted for the exam is 3½ hours.
  • There is a charge of $199.50 to take the Florida state broker's exam. Of this amount, $154 is sent to the State of Florida with your application. This fee also includes the cost of the license. The remaining $45.50 must be paid, by credit card or money order only, at the test site.
  • After passing the Florida state broker's exam you will be issued an inactive license UNLESS you submit a completed Florida Bureau of Business and Professional Regulation Form No. RE 2050-1 (Request for Change of Status). As of 14 Oct. 2003, it is available online at http://www.myflorida.com/dbpr/re/forms/re-2050-1.pdf.
Once this form is filed, your Florida broker's license will be activated for a period of anywhere between 18 and 24 months, depending on how the state assigns your renewal cycle.
  • After passing the Florida state broker's exam you will be required to complete a 60-hour post-license course (30-hours Investment, 30-hours Management) during the first 2-year renewal period. During each 2-year renewal period thereafter you are required to obtain 14 hours of education that may be completed either in Florida or by correspondence course.
