A historic animosity arises between licensees and home inspectors, despite the fact that all are charged by the Commonwealth to serve and protect the best interests of clients on both sides of a real estate transaction. This animosity is due in part to perceptions that licensees and inspectors play adversarial roles in promoting and ensuring client welfare, but their roles can and should be complimentary. If their jobs are understood and appreciated by all parties, licensees and inspectors can satisfactorily determine and enhance value in almost every transaction, and happily co-exist as a result.
This 7-hour elective Mandatory Continuing Education course explains to licensees a home inspector’s duties, obligations, liabilities and loyalties. It is intended to help licensees work with their clients in identifying and remedying potential deficiencies before an inspector is engaged, and to guide licensees to uncover and price “hidden value” in real property assets.
“Home Inspection: Everything Under The Roof” is a presentation developed by Polley Associates, based on authoritative industry research, and professional real estate and home inspection expertise.
This is a full-day course. It fulfills 7 hours of the 14 hours of
mandatory continuing education (MCE) required by the Pennsylvania State Real
Estate Commission for salesperson's or broker's license renewal.
