 The Top 6 Questions
The Top 6 Questions We Get Asked About Online Courses
  • Can I take these courses using a dial-up (56K or less) Internet connection? NO. Unless you have a broadband Internet connection (DSL, cable or faster) we strongly recommend you avoid taking courses online.
  • How do I benefit by taking courses online? If you're in a hurry to finish your course (for example, if your license is expired or due to expire soon); or if live classes aren't scheduled when you need them; or if they're not close to you, online courses may be a good choice.
  • Are online courses right for everyone? No. You'll enjoy live classes more than online ones if you like the ability to network with friends and others in the industry; or if you don't use (or don't like to use!) computers regularly; or if you're not diligent enough to return and complete an online course over time.
  • How long do courses take to complete? Each course is approved for a specific number of hours. In most cases, these are "seat time" hours. So if the course you choose is approved for 6 hours, it usually means you'll spend 6 hours in front of your computer screen. But you can stop and re-start most courses at your convenience, which means you can take them when you want for only as long as you want until you're done.
  • How does the PA Real Estate Commission know I've completed my courses online? We electronically submit notice of your course completion to the Commission 7-10 days after you finish. Please plan for this submission period when taking courses against a license expiration deadline. In certain subjects -- specifically: Sales License Courses, Broker License Courses, and Appraisal Certification Courses (but NOT real estate continuing education or appraisal re-certification) -- an exam is required. If this is the case with your online course, the course is considered completed only after a passing grade is received on the exam.
  • If I don't like the course, or I don't finish it in time, can I get credit for it or get my money back? No. We're sorry, but we do NOT provide any refunds, credits or exchanges for these courses under any circumstances. Please see our buyers' notice.
