National USPAP Update Course Content
This is a seven-hour course for appraisal recertification that covers required
topics of updated information
on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. The course reviews
both the "binding requirements" and the "specific appraisal
guidelines" of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices. At the conclusion
of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the appraiser's role in society.
- Understand the significance of public trust in appraisals.
- Identify the function and purpose of The Appraisal Foundation, and
distinguish the roles of the Appraisal Standards Board and the Appraiser
Qualifications Board.
- Understand the legal authority of The Appraisal Foundation.
- Understand the relationship between USPAP and the appraisal process.
- Gain and overview of the key revisions to the USPAP requirements since
2000.
- Recognize valuation services that are not part of appraisal practice.
- Identify services provided by appraisers within appraisal practice.
- Summarize the scope of work definition and identify key components of the
scope of work decision.
- Identify the external tests for the acceptability of the scope of work.
